My name is Darren the author and designer of this site. You can contact me on (webmaster(removeme)@whykidscry.com) although I dont make a point of checking this email as I get so much junk and often miss things. Please read on.
You might describe me as the victim and yes maybe 20 years ago I was but then with help I managed to confront my childhood memories head on as it were and go for broke. The site is designed to help adult victims of childhood abuse confront their memories and to give some ideas on how to confront a cold heartless state system that really might want to care but simply does not have the time.
Now I am just one man with a little voice and I'm not qualified to give you advice expecally if your a child. If your a child there are far better qualified people on 0800 1111 (childline)
The simple fact is most people, teachers, school heads, family, friends etc. Really don't have the time. Now most people you meet have a core value of 'how can I make my life easier' or 'how can I maybe help others who maybe in a struggle.' Think about it how many times have you driven past a stranded motorist and just kind of said in your head 'bad luck' or thought to yourself 'hope they are a member of the AA' or thought to yourself 'ha ha your broken down.' Or maybe 'what can I make out of this' and how many times have you stopped and offered help expecting no reward?
This is exactly the same if you leave your child in the hands / care of others, especally if you don't know them. Its simply luck of the draw. Some have the time and want to help, some don't and want to pass any work off to somebody else. Some see a child they can manipulate and abuse for their own ends be it scoring points with others or worse.
Now that may be a cynical view but by my experience it is simply the way of the world.
